Our Story
GPS Pharmacy is a locally owned compounding pharmacy based in Mint Hill, just outside of Charlotte. We work directly with patients, physicians, veterinarians and other prescribers to formulate individualized medications when a mass-manufactured drug doesn't fit — whether that's a different dose, a different form, a flavor a pet or child will accept, or an ingredient that isn't otherwise available.
Every prescription we prepare is reviewed by a pharmacist before it goes out. Most are delivered same day to patients across the Charlotte area.
Meet Julya
Julya founded GPS Pharmacy in 2016. She was working as a hospice pharmacist and kept running into the same gap — patients and families who needed a compounding pharmacy that would actually pick up the phone. She convinced her husband Daniel to put a medical degree on hold, the two of them liquidated what they had, and they opened GPS to fill that gap.
Today she leads the pharmacy's compounding, hospice and clinical work — personally reviewing formulations, calling prescribers when something needs clarifying, and (yes) asking about flavor preferences for cats.

Julya Friedman
Founded GPS Pharmacy in 2016 after seeing — as a hospice pharmacist — the need for a community-based compounding pharmacy that answers the phone. Leads all compounding, hospice and clinical work.
