Common Questions

Answers to the questions patients, prescribers and pet owners ask most often.

Getting Started

Yes. Compounded medications require a valid prescription from a licensed prescriber — a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or veterinarian.

Call us at 980-245-2028 with the name of your current pharmacy and the medication name. We'll handle the transfer process for you. Most transfers take 1-2 business days.

Yes. With your permission, our pharmacists can reach out to your prescriber to request a prescription, transfer or clarify formulation options.

Compounding Basics

A compounded medication is prepared by a pharmacist for a specific patient based on the prescriber's prescription — for example a different strength, a different dosage form, or a combination of ingredients that isn't commercially available.

FDA does not approve individual compounded medications the way it approves mass-manufactured drugs. Compounding pharmacies are state-licensed, must comply with applicable USP standards, and prepare medications pursuant to valid prescriptions in accordance with applicable Section 503A requirements.

Depending on the prescription: capsules, creams, gels, ointments, solutions, suspensions, troches, suppositories, transdermal preparations, flavored liquids and more. Your pharmacist will identify available options for your specific prescription.

Most are ready within 24 hours. Some complex formulations take longer — your pharmacist will provide a specific timeline when the prescription is received.

Delivery & Pickup

Yes — complimentary local delivery is available in Charlotte, Mint Hill, Matthews and surrounding areas. Free ground shipping is available to eligible states.

Insurance & Pricing

Coverage varies by plan and by medication. Some compounded prescriptions are covered by insurance; others are self-pay. We'll let you know your price up front.
